Here are some shots we took over the weekend. I like this dress - it isn't pink for one, plus it has an empire waist and who doesn't look good in that cut??
She was slightly afraid of the grass but eventually relaxed. This was very similar to our first swim lesson in which she tightened herself into a ball for the first 25 minutes of the 30 minute class. She didn't scream or cry, that was being handled by the only boy in the class. He was very unhappy and Tessa kept looking at him with an odd expression. I have no photos of the lesson - water and cameras do not make a good combo. The teacher said she was going to work us hard next week. Whatever, Tessa slept through the night the day of swim class.
It amazes me how little she is when we are next to other kids. She is slightly bigger than the 6 month old in the swim class. Tessa is still fitting into a 6 month size for most things, except sleepers. We like our toes to have plenty of wiggle room. :)
We had our one month visit from the social worker today. It was really short as we just talked about our trip and how we are settling in with Tessa. She hasn't been to our house since we moved in so she checked out Tessa's room as well. We have to meet with her at certain intervals - 6 and a 12 months per agreement with the Chinese government. She is very nice and I am sure this is the best part of her job.
We are doing great and taking short trips daily to get more comfortable with the carseat. It still makes her crazy being strapped down but she is getting better. The construction next door hasn't interfered with her sleep. It has put a damper on the use of the back porch though...so much for having coffee in my PJ's. You just never know when those guys show up!
