Tree hunt

Hunting for a Christmas tree in three layers of clothes, a big puffy coat and holding a candy cane in temperatures hovering around freezing is no fun. Even, if you are pulled out of the truck plopped down by the first tree and then put back in the truck. Your parents are trying to capture a good picture for holiday cards and attempting to make you smile which is rather annoying considering the conditions described above. What is worse is when you lose your balance due to all the clothes and fall on your face emerging with pine needles stuck in your skin and one in your eye. Then your parents realize they took a wrong turn at the poorly marked tree farm and discover they are no where near where you are suppose to cut down a tree but off in some random field that may have an owner toting a shotgun. And even though you are de-pine needled, you are still crying a little from the face plant incident so your Mom tells your Dad to cut the first tree they see because this day wasn't creating a good memory and she wants to go home.
Oh well.

In the end they did get a good shot which wasn't at the tree farm but in your own front yard. The tree that wasn't the best turned out decent and and you gave a resounding 'ooohhh' when you saw it lit up the first time. Funny enough you keep a respectable distance from the tree because in the end the pine needles do hurt.

Funny. The second picture is pretty sweet; assume that's the one in your own back yard.

I love the first one. She won't remember the bad things just the good and there will be plenty of good times. Traditions aren't they grand.
